Mary Beth Barber is the manager for COMPASS, the California Online Media Program for Access and Student Success (formerly the K-12 Online Resources Program) at the California State Library. She's has two decades in state service for cultural and educational agencies and joined the State Library in 2016. Previously she worked in journalism, public relations, media-arts production, and as a teaching artist in theatre and film. Currently she's a reader for the California Young Reader Medal, the state's long-standing reader-choice award program for children's literature ("kids vote! kids decide!") coordinated by a team from library and education organizations including CLA.
