Henry Bankhead

Deputy Director
Berkeley Public Library

Henry Bankhead is the Deputy Director of the Berkeley Public Library where he works as part of a team to eliminate systemic barriers to resources and services. Previously, he was the City Librarian/ Assistant Library and Recreation Director for San Rafael where he used the tools of design thinking to open a new mall library location in a former Payless Shoe Store. Prior to San Rafael, Henry worked at the Los Gatos Library where he was a champion of eBook self-publishing; for his work in this area he was named a Library Journal Mover & Shaker in 2014.
