Robert Karatsu

Library Director (Retired)
Rancho Cucamonga Public Library, CA

RK began his professional journey as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Fiji and eventually ended up as the Library Director of the Rancho Cucamonga Public Library where he led them to winning the IMLS National Medal. In 2015 he was the CLA President. In 2022 RK was actually inducted into the California Library Association Hall of Fame (serious!).and currently proudly serves on his hometown Pasadena Public Library Foundation. Otherwise RK can most likely be found playing his ukulele and doting on his sweet tuxedo kitty Lucy.
