Hsin-Yu Teresa Hsu-Contreras, M.Ed., is the Academic and Outreach Director of the Human Migration Institute (HMI). Teresa has been in the education career for over 12 years and has more than seven years of ESL instruction and community-building experience specifically for refugees and newcomers. She has also presented at the TESOL International Convention for multiple years, emphasizing social-emotional learning and trauma-informed education. Teresa also teaches in the Intensive English Program at UCR University Extension. She enjoys golfing, beach walks, and hanging out with friends and her cat, Pedley.
