Cathay Reta

Cathay Reta is an adult literacy consultant whose experience spans 40 years of projects on local, state and national levels. Cathay was trained as a volunteer tutor when California Library Literacy Services (CLLS) was launched in 1984. A year later she became literacy coordinator at the Commerce Public Library, then the Monterey Park Public Library, and the Azusa City Library. In between working with libraries, she was Training Director for California Literacy (a former statewide nonprofit organization), has consulted on a variety of CLLS projects, and has developed and delivered training for ProLiteracy, a national nonprofit volunteer literacy organization.
