Building Relationships with Your Elected Officials: Are You at the Table or on It?

Advocacy is an ongoing process, not just a once-a-year email or meeting. It is also not just for library directors. Library staff at all levels are voters and should understand how important it is to develop relationships with local, regional, state and national politicians and government staff. We will talk about legislative schedules, funding flows and how to get your colleagues and patrons more involved as well.
