For the last 2 years, San Jose Public Library has been implementing trauma-informed practices for both staff and customers. During this program you will learn ways to get started with some of these techniques at your own organization. You will also gain self-care practices that you can apply to build staff resiliency and strengthen teamwork, thereby improving staff morale and customer service to library patrons. Tying together trauma-informed practices with self-care techniques and a strengths-based approach, our team will share our experiences learning these techniques and sharing them with our staff as we build a culture of care.
