The Redwood City Public Library uses a $37,800 grant in Library Services and Technology Act (LSTA) funds administered by the California State Library to launch their innovative program, Bienvenidos: interpretes para actividades bibliotecarias (Welcome: Interpreters for Library Activities). Bienvenidos partners with Upward Scholars, a Latinx-led community organization that provides adult immigrants the boost they need to achieve their goals. Upward Scholars interpreters open doors for the Spanish-speaking community to participate in library activities offered in English, welcoming them to learn, explore, and grow with their English-speaking neighbors.
