In this participative program audience members will be informed of the state of CLA, its current various deliverables, and finances. The audience will then be guided through a strategic planning method called "Idealized Design" (ID) to envision the "perfect" future CLA. Then the audience will be divided into smaller facilitated groups. Half of the groups will work on mapping the steps and a time- line to the envisioned future that surfaced in the ID part of the session. The other half of the groups will apply a methodology called "Appreciative Inquiry" (AI) to current and past CLA deliverables. This methodology asks participants to evaluate the assets and strengths of an organization, as it emphasizes positive idea generation over negative problem identification. The groups will then report out on their findings and rank them. Later, program facilitators will assemble the work into a strategic plan, with credit given to all participants.
