The California Young Reader Medal Program: Kids Vote! Kids Decide!

The California Library Association is one of four sponsoring professional organizations that coordinate the California Young Reader Medal (now in its 50th year!) and provide committee members to read recommendations for the nomination short-list. There are 5 categories: picture books, picture books for older readers, intermediate, middle school, and young adult. Session attendees will learn about promoting the winning and nominated titles at your library, insights about the nominations, the process for assisting kids with the voting, and how to apply to join the award committee.
