English language learners work on speaking, listening, reading, writing, and vocabulary simultaneously and can be the hardest for tutors and program staff to support. In this three-hour interactive session, you'll learn and practice strategies for adult learners whose main goal is to successfully use English every day. Find out how to create a supportive learning environment, provide authentic opportunities for speaking and listening, and identify effective materials and tutoring strategies for the population your program serves. This session is geared toward California Library Literacy Services program staff but is open to all interested participants. The materials and techniques are geared for adults rather than children.
