As a consultant for NEDCC’s "Ready—or Not" Cultural Heritage Disaster Preparedness Project, Özge Gençay-Üstün provides risk assessment to California cultural organizations that care for collections. Özge is a trained objects conservator with 23 years of experience working with archaeological and Indigenous collections, most recently at the Autry Museum of the American West. Her responsibilities included collection surveys, packing and moving collections, object treatments, exhibition materials assessment, environmental monitoring, integrated pest management, culturally sensitive conservation practices related to repatriation, analyzing, and assessing past pesticides practices.
